About Nedjma

Nedjma Ziarati was born in Canada in 1997 to an Iranian father and an Algerian-German mother.

She trained with the Iranian miniaturist Sahar Bakhtiari, from the school of the great Iranian miniaturist Mohammad Bagher Aghamiri, her work draws its source from the old art of Persian miniature.

She cultivates with great meticulousness the taste for detail and landscape, with nature and woman occupying an essential place.

Her brightly coloured palette dresses works that sometimes borrow elements from Japan, China, or the Middle East, and whisper many stories

Fluidity and movement, out of frame or chaos, here are the elements of nature, like rock and water, intermingle, and finally merge.

In this poetic and imaginative art, the laws of perspective are liberated. Thus, the figurative and the abstract merge, in an atmosphere that opens the way to dream and wonder.
