Nedjma Ziarati (b. 1997, Canada) is a visual artist of Iranian, Algerian, and German heritage. She holds a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal.

Drawing from the visual language of Persian miniature painting, Ziarati creates detailed works across painting, digital media, and video. Her paintings are a platform for play and self-interrogation, a way of processing her experiences and responding to the world around her. Influenced by her inner world as well as the people, places, and experiences that surround her, she creates visual narratives through images, symbols, and layered compositions.

Nature and the female figure frequently appear in her work. While Persian miniature painting remains an important influence, her visual language also draws from different parts of Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. Reflecting her own hybrid background, her paintings bring together diverse references, symbols, and visual traditions to create richly detailed worlds filled with colour, movement, and symbolism.

Her recent work moves toward more narrative forms of storytelling, incorporating characters, mythological figures, and symbolic elements. Through these imagined scenes, she continues to use art as a space for expression, questioning, and play.
